TAKE BOMB THREAT PLANES ELSEWHERE

PLANES diverted due to bomb scares on board should NOT land at local airport Glasgow Prestwick, according local MP Brian Donohoe.

Following a week in which TWO aircraft were diverted to Prestwick following bomb hoaxes, the Central Ayrshire MP is calling for such cases to be sent to a military base in the future.

Reports which emerged last week, claiming planes could be shot down mid-air if there was deemed to be a high enough security risk, have led to fears of an unacceptable safety risk for the local community.

Now Brian Donohoe has written to the Secretary of State to press for an urgent review.
