WORKERS STONED

CONSTRUCTION workers are being terrorised by yobs hurling stones and boulders, according to a local developer.
The Times reported claims last week that residents of Seaton Terrace in Irvine were being plagued by vermin and gangs of youths at a nearby building site.
But the developer, who wishes to remain unnamed, said: “My workers can’t get on with their job for kids chucking stones and boulders at them. The police are never away from here.”
“We can’t do anything about it because if the workers went near them then it would be us in trouble.“
Residents complained that security fencing had been taken down and the site left open to the troublemakers.
