Printer Print Article

The Cross Keys went up in flames last Thursday night and an estimated £35,000 worth of damage was caused following a massive blaze.

The pub, which was boarded up, was set alight after it was allegedly broken into and accelerant spread throughout the building.

Two fire engines were called to the pub on Harbour Street at 11pm with four firefighters using breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets employed to get the blaze under control.

Dreghorn Fire Station Manager Kenny Alcroft told the Times: “The blaze was brought under control by 11.30pm and a fire investigation unit began looking at the situation.
