Local police have described the attack on Blacklands mum Tracey Boyce as ‘one of the worst serious assaults’ they have seen.

And Tracey’s father is so desperate to see the attacker caught he is offering a £500 reward.

The 37-year-old was woken in the early hours of one Sunday morning when an unknown man knocked at her door, before launching into a brutal and frenzied attack which left her with a broken cheekbone and ear, neck and eye injuries.

Tracey said this week: “I remember the door going and standing at the top of the stairs, saying ’who is it?’. That’s when he mentioned my son and best friend. I know he was there for me because he called my son by his first name and everyone who knows him calls him by his nickname.”

When Tracey opened the door to her attacker the man somehow managed to pin her in a small hall space behind her front door where he beat her into unconsciousness.

She woke up almost four hours later after managing to make her way up stairs into her bed.

Tracey recalled: “I don’t remember the attack - I remember one punch and that’s it. It’s like someone has erased my memory - it’s like a black hole.
