AN AMBITIOUS plan to transform Irvine harbour could be hampered by potentially lethal pollution from chemical works at the site.
Irvine Bay Urban Regeneration Company hopes to build a mixed housing and leisure development at the harbourside as part of its master plan for the area.
However, concerns were raised by a critic of the plans who claimed that chemical works formerly in the area could have left dangerous pollution.
