DUO "STOOD IN FRONT OF TRAIN"

TWO teenagers have been charged with standing in the path of an approaching train.

Thomas Esdale and Christine Pearce, both 16, are accused of standing on the track, placing engine driver Kenneth McNee in a state of fear and alarm and breach of the peace at Glengarnock Station in August.

Esdale, of Mossend Avenue in Kilbirnie, denied the charge at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court and faces trial later this year.

Pearce, of Cambusdoon Place, Kilwinning, made no plea.
