A PROMISE by council bosses to have everything in place before the warden service was taken away has been shattered.
The sheltered housing warden service officially ended this week, with legal action still being pursued and government action also being threatened.
However, a number of wardens will remain in their posts until mid-June.
The Times asked a series of questions regarding the removal of the service a fortnight ago, the majority of which were only answered on Monday.
However, one which was answered at the time saw the council tell us that the full system would be in place for April 1.
However, this week, when pushed to tell us if this was still the case, we were told that "the system would begin to be implemented on April 1" rather than actually being in place from day one.
