KILWINNING Big Brother favourite Mikey Hughes became the third Ayrshire representative in as many years this week.
Now, the whole town is willing the 33-year-old to go on to win the coveted TV title and eclipse Irvine's Sam Brodie and Ayr's David Parnaby - who both lasted barely a fortnight as "halfway housemates".
The outgoing former St. Luke's and St. Michael's pupil lost the sight in his left eye at the age of just seven due to a condition known as Stickler's Syndrome before a failed operation ten years ago left him completely blind.
Mikey, well known to readers of the Times, hasn't let his disability dampen down his desire for life and has gone on to great success - becoming a presenter, DJ and producer at the innovative Insight Radio in Glasgow.
He joined 15 other contestants on the Channel 4 show last Thursday and was made the early favourite with the bookies.
Keep an eye on the Irvine Times for latest on Mikey's time in the BB house.
