AN INTERNET pervert from Irvine has been jailed for 18 months for performing sex acts and taking explicit photos with a 14-year-old girl.

Martin Murray, 36, was one of three men locked up for having sexual relations with the schoolgirl after she posted her details on a social networking site.

The Times had approached Murray at his home in Strathmore Park after he admitted spending the night with the girl at a hotel, having oral sex with her and taking indecent pictures.

At the High Court on Wednesday Judge Lord Brodie said: “You pled guilty to one charge of repeated sexual activity, including oral sex, but not penetrative intercourse and one charge of taking indecent photographs of the same girl.

“I am satisfied that you appreciate that what you did was wholly wrong and the reponsibility lay with you and not the girl.”

Murray, who is reported to have had oral sex because he was impotent, took the girl to his home in Irvine.

The total number of charges relating to the girl was 17 - with the other two offenders, Glasgow’s Daniel Walker, 33 and Edingurgh’s Gary wilson, 42, receiving longer jail terms for their crimes.

Wilson, who had sex with the teen in a car parked in woods near Edinburgh while she was high on the contents of an aerosol, was sentenced for 40 months.

And Walker, who sent the girl messages about his sado-masochistic fantasies and also admitted internet relationships with other under-16s, was jailed for two years at the court in Paisley.
