New cash to repair Old Parish damage?
By Alistair Neil
IT IS hoped that funds will become available over the next few months to carry out repair work to damaged grave stones in Irvine Old Parish Churchyard - and the Times is backing the project all the way.
As we have been reporting in recent weeks, many of the memorials in the cemetery have been subjected to vandalism and the site is frequently being used as a location for yobs to drink and take drugs.
However Councillor Ian Clarkson is hopeful that money can be secured from a number of resources in order to maintain one of Irvine's most historical sites.
Check out this week's Times for more on this remarkable story...
