'I'LL RUN FOR MY MUM'
By John Martin Fulton
AN ATHLETE from Irvine has turned the dream her mum had for her before she died into a reality - by winning a last minute place at the Olympics.
Susan Scott had been dubbed "Scotland's unluckiest athlete" for missing out on the games last time by less than half a second.
But now she will fly to Beijing to run in the 1500m , the wish her mum told her about when she was a girl.
For more on the athlete's remarkable Olympic adventure, check out this week's Times.
