Ferris' Irvine army teen

FORMER gangster Paul Ferris has spoken up about his part in helping his Irvine nephew become an army hero.

Brave Neil Ferris is now a Royal Highland Fusilier serving his country in war torn Afghanistan - and has even earned a promotion to Lance Corporal.

But his uncle Paul, 44, has revealed how he marched Neil down to an army recruitment office when he was a tracksuit-wearing lad of just 16.
