Brave wee Gary battles back to health
By John Martin Fulton
THE PROUD family of a three-year old boy from Kilwinning who battled against a rare blood disease in intensive care have told the Times how happy they are now he is well.
And as wee Gary Brown gets back to normal his mum Pamela said she is relieved the "nightmare" illness that caused all his joints to swell and his lungs to collapse is finally over.
But his family are so grateful to the doctors and nurses who saved him from the strepococous virus - and who helped him celebrate his third birthday from a hospital bed - they have raised a whopping £2800 in charity cash.
For more on Gary's remarkable fightback check out this week's Times.
