SAFETY-MINDED staff at North Ayrshire Council have just scooped a top award for preventing accidents among their workers.
Council Safety Adviser Charlene Irvine collected the gold accolade from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents at a glittering bash.
She said: “We’re delighted to receive this. It’s a marker of how safe our staff are at work. In order to attain this accreditation we have to satisfy examiners that our incident rate is lower than the national average.”
Meanwhile, RoSPA manager David Rawlins explained that the awards themselves helped reduce workplace accidents.
