Mikey hits the heights

KILWINNING hero Mikey Hughes scaled new heights at the weekend - climbing a 150ft crane.

But the brave Big Brother favourite, who had never abseiled in his life before, said his blindness proved to be a bonus for the stunt as he meant he wasn’t afraid.

He said: ““When I could see I was scared of heights. But now that I am blind this fear seems to have disappeared.”

Daredevil Mikey said he took on the terrifying 100-year-old Titan crane on Sunday after his original climb the day before was cancelled because of dangerously high winds.
