MEDIOCRE MEADOW EDGE OUT FORD

Printer Print Article

STEADY Meadow closed within a point of leaders Troon as they edged out Ford to register their eighth league win out of 10.

Chris Strain’s side commenced this game with a change in formation and this allowed Hurlford to find space on the flanks and cause the hosts an unsettling opening 15 minutes.

Simon Eeles in particular was weaving his magic on the right wing and on the 15th minute mark one such run saw the mercurial winger strike a sizzling shot towards the Meadow goal which flew past Michael Wardrope’s post.

On the 20th minute, Eeles once again was involved when he whipped over a vicious cross from the right which found Gary Murray clear inside the Meadow penalty area, however he volleyed over the bar to save Meadow’s blushes.

The hosts’ first effort came after 27 minutes when Stephen Reid showed some clever skills wide right and when his cross into the box found the unmarked James Tyler but uncharacteristically he slipped as he was about to roll the ball into the net and an excellent chance was passed up.
