DRIVE ARE INTO FINAL
By John-Martin Fulton
Clark Drive AFC v Onthank AMS
Chris Hartley raced down the right flank before cutting the ball inside for the unmarked Brian Harvey who thundered a shot past the static Kenny Pollock form 20 yards.
Both teams were still creating enough chances to win the game as the tie went from end to end with little respite.
Drive, however, began to take control again and equalised through Kevan Reid after some excellent work from Graeme Hamilton and Sandy Wylie. Moments later it was 2-1 when Ian Fraser was up-ended in the box for a penalty kick, which Fraser coolly slotted home to Anthony Crolla's left.
This looked to have sealed Drive's place in the final, but they were punished with five minutes to go when the influential Harvey gathered the ball in the middle of the park and with the Drive midfield posted missing, he played in the onrushing Hartley who slammed the ball low to Kenny pollock's right from just outside the box.
Onto extra-time and the game continued at a ferocious pace with Onthank coming close on a number of occassions.
But they were caught with a sucker punch when Barry wilson released Wylie on the right and wylie beat his marker before delivering a pinpoint cross for Hamilton to bullet a header past keeper crolla to tak edrive through to the final after what was a superb game, from which both teams should take enormous credit.
