Clinical Nock broke Buffs' hearts with this defeat leaving their promotion dreams in tatters for the second year running.
Gareth Campbell's goal early in the second half all but killed off Alan McTurk's team's chances as it left them needing three goals to force a penalty shoot-out.
However, even the most ardent Buffs fan could not argue about this result as the Scottish Cup finalists were by far the better team over both legs and their greater experience helped them retain their Premier stautus.
