More athletic success for John

FAST-RISING Irvine AC John McCafferty Jnr was celebrating yet more success at the weekend, enjoying double medal glory in a top international field.
The 16-year-old from Stevenston lined up in the Celtic International Games at Grangemouth Stadium on Saturday.
In the discus event, John was in the lead going into the sixth and final round and he threw san excellent 45.51 metres before being edged out by the Irish then the Welsh athlete by only a metre.
