FORMER KILWINNING RANGERS assistant manager Sam McGivern has officially thrown his name into the hat for the side’s vacant managerial job following Alan McTurk’s resignation last week.
He is currently in temporary charge and joined Colin “Rusty” Harkness in the dugout on Saturday as the Abbey Park outfit secured their first win of the season in an emphatic 5-0 victory over Wishaw Juniors in the first round of the New Coin Automatics West of Scotland Cup.
McGivern met with club bosses on Monday night where he was interviewed for the vacant position and told the Times that if offered the job he will take it - but only if he gets to take the right people with him.
Check out this week's Times for more.
