MIGHTY MAC'S DOUBLE DREAM

LEGENDARY former Scotland international striker Andy McLaren is going all out for a unique personal double after being signed up by IRVINE MEADOW following a dream debut which saw him net FOUR of their five goals in a shock win against a senior Second Division side.

Former Scottish Cup winner McLaren, 35, has been signed up for a month following his stunning performance in the 5-1 friendly win at Stirling Albion last Tuesday but hopes to be here for the season and bid to win a Scottish Junior Cup medal to go with the senior equivalent won with Dundee United in 1994 and the Stagecoach Premier title.

Sporttimes earlier this season tipped the veteran targetman for Meadow after he failed to reach agreement with Ayr United on a new deal in the summer, although the speculationwas at the time ribbished by the club.
