Irvine weather the storm for a fine win

Irvine 13 v 3 Ellon
IRVINE emerged from the storm to register a hard-fought victory over far-travelled opponents Ellon and in the process reverse their recent run of defeats.
The home side failed to take advantage of the mountain gale behind them in the first half but the pack quickly began to show their mettle.
In the 13th minute they were awarded a scrum some six metres out. The pack then walked the Ellon pack over the line for Tony Wright to dot the ball down.
However in the wild wind, Sean Christie was unable to convert.
