FIREFIGHTERS were called into action recently after a house fire in Irvine.
The incident occurred on Sunday, January 19 when appliances from Dreghorn and Kilwinning Fire Stations were called to the house in Craigmark Place, Girdle Toll at 3.47pm.
It was revealed that the fire was started in the kitchen and officers used two breathing apparatus and one dry powder extinguisher to tackle the fire.
An elderly woman was thought to be suffering from slight smoke inhalation and was checked by ambulance personnel but no treatment was needed.
Thankfully no one was injured and fire-fighters left the scene at 4.35pm.
