COUNCILLORS have agreed to the land transfer of an Irvine car park.
Members of North Ayrshire Council’s Cabinet last week agreed to transfer the East Road South car park from the Irvine Common Good Fund to the council’s General Fund Balance Sheet.
The car park will be used as a parking area for visitors to the new leisure centre in East Road and was included in the planning application for its construction.
In a report presented to Cabinet last week, it was revealed that the car park will not be appropriate for any other town centre use.
This is because of its proximity to the leisure centre as well as the creation of other parking in East Road to the north of the car park adjacent to Aldi.
Cabinet members agreed to transfer £14,500 (the market value of the land) to the Irvine Common Good and approve the transfer of land to the General Fund Balance Sheet.
