THREE men who caused mayhem at two Harbourside pubs must pay over £3,000 in fines and compensation between them.

Andrew Pounder, Ben Dethick and Gareth Troop, all of Rotherham, Yorkshire, committed the offences on October 17 last year at the Harbour Lights and Marina Inn.

Kilmarnock Sheriff Court heard last week how Pounder, 40, assaulted a man by seizing him, kicking him on the body and repeatedly punching his head at the Harbour Lights.

This was before he moved on to the Marina Inn where he maliciously damaged interior doors, a television and a microwave oven.

Dethick, 31, repeatedly spat in a police vehicle travelling between Irvine’s Harbour Street and Raise Street in Saltcoats.

He also shouted, swore and directed derogatory and racial comments at two police officers.

Dethick also admitted obstructing four officers at the Marina Inn by tensing his arms and lashing out to prevent arrest.

The court also heard how Troop, 19, admitted shouting, swearing and uttering sexually offensive comments.

He made the insults before exposing his private parts to a woman and two men in the Harbour Lights.

The three men pled guilty to the offences at court last week.

Pounder was ordered to pay £300 and £750 compensation to two men respectively as well as being fined £480.

Dethick was fined £780 on his two charges while Troop was fined £750.
