POLICE are hunting two attackers after a teenager was seriously assaulted in an Irvine nightclub.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses after an 18-year-old man was attacked in Bank Street in the early hours of Sunday, January 10.

Police say at around 1am, the teenager was inside Pitchers nightclub in Bank Street when he was approached by two men who then assaulted him.

The men believed to be responsible are described as being white, aged between 20 and 23 years of age and around 6ft in height.

As a result of the appalling attack, the teenager suffered a serious facial injury.

Police are now appealing for anyone with information on the assailants to come forward.

A spokesperson for Ayrshire Police Division said this week: “An 18-year-old man has suffered a facial injury as a result of this incident.

“We are conducting extensive enquiries into the incident including a review of CCTV.

“However we are appealing to people who were within the nightclub and may have witnessed the incident or anyone with information to get in touch with us as soon as possible."

Anyone with information about the attack is asked to call North Ayrshire CID on the police non-emergency number, 101.
