A DRIVER who was killed after his car collided with a heavy goods vehicle in Dreghorn has been named.
Kevan Smith, of Kilwinning, died after his Ford Focus collided with a red coloured HGV and trailed between the Warrix Interchange and Corsehillmount roundabout near Dreghorn at around 8.50pm on Wednesday, January 27.
The 45-year-old died at the scene. The 36-year-old driver of the HGV was uninjured.
A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
Sergeant Andy Johnston of the Divisional Road Policing Unit at Irvine would like to speak to anyone who witnessed this crash or who may have any information in relation to it.
