YOUNGSTERS from throughout the community were courting success at a special event staged in Greenwood Academy.
The Ayrshire Half Court Singles event attracted 25 children to the Dreghorn venue.
The free event was organised by Active Schools and Irvine Junior Badminton Club.
Leona Simpson (Glebe Primary) beat Rebecca Boyd (Glebe Primary) to win the girls singles title and Logan Harwood (Glebe Primary) beat Ryan Greer (Glebe Primary) to retain his singles title.
Development squad players Lily Davies and Eva Tremble, both Glebe Primary School pupils, presented a demonstration match during the event.
The event was aimed at giving kids the opportunity to take part in their first badminton competition and join a local club.

Irvine Junior Badminton Club meets at Irvine Royal Academy on Fridays, from 6pm until 7.30pm. The Junior Club intend to employ a part=time coach to deliver badminton taster session in local primary schools, followed by after-school clubs.
