MEET your Segdoune Royal Party for 2016!

St Winning's Primary School pupil Emma Montgomery has been selected as Segdoune Queen and her deputy will be Hannah Graham of St Luke's Primary School

The rest of the Royal Party are Emma McNaught (Abbey Primary School), Kayla Murphy (Blacklands Primary School), Hallie Graham (Corsehill Primary School), Chloe Dickie (Pennyburn Primary School) and Ellie Hill (Whitehirst Park Primary School).

All of the party were officially elected on Sunday, April 24 at The Playz in Pennyburn by judges James Millar of Kilwinning Community Council, ex-Segdoune Royal Sean Pollock, Ann Robertson MBE from the Dance Depot and Sandra Copleand from Oh Crumbs.

The Royal Party will be officially crowned at the Kilwinning Carnival on Saturday, June 25 when it returns to McGavin Park

Councillor Donald Reid, on behalf of Segdoune organisers Promoting Kilwinning said: "The judges had a hard job this year with such a high standard of candidates from each of the schools.

"Each one took the chance to give a speech about themselves after which our judges deliberated and made the nominations.

"Our thanks to each of the schools for their help with the shortlisting in school, our judges and the Playz for offering the venue for the selection."

This year's carnival is being run jointly with the ACES Woodwynd group.
