A YOUNGSTER had to be rescued from a bin after a game of hide-and-seek went wrong.

Fire crews from Dreghorn had to free the seven-year-old boyfrom the very embarrassing situation late on Sunday afternoon.

The child had allegedly been involved in a game of hide and seek and had decided to conceal himself within a metal bin in the grounds of the Vineburgh Community Centre but when trying to free himself from his hiding place found himself to be wedged tight and the fire brigade had to be called.

Station Manager Derek Davidson said “On occasion people do things which end up with them having a bit of egg on their face.

"Unfortunately for this individual I’m sure his friends will get a bit of mileage from this incident.

“Luckily for the person involved our operational crew remained totally professional and managed to extricate him from the bin using hydraulic cutting equipment. Something he probably won’t want reminded of.”
