AN Irvine teenager who carried out a string of assaults in the town is behind bars.
Robert Cooper, 19, admitted numerous charges of assault and abusive behaviour between January and May this year.
He firstly attacked a man in Bridgegate on January 4 by punching him on the head, knocking him to the ground and punching him further.
In Golffields Road on February 19, he repeatedly punched another man on the head and tried to pull him to the ground.
Cooper then struck another man on the head at the Rivergate Shopping Centre before seizing a third man as well as punching and kicking him on the head and body.
The teenager admitted breaching his curfew on May 24, struggling with cops, shouting, uttering violent threats and trying to push them away.
Cooper pleaded guilty to the charges at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court last week.
He was sentenced to 255 days in a young offender’s institution.
