DRIVERS are being warned of potential delays on a busy Kilwinning road this week as it undergoes resurfacing works.

Road works will start on the A738 in Kilwinning on Sunday, June 26.

Scotland TranServ, operating on behalf of Transport Scotland will carry out the works which will see repairs to defects on the road surface and the reinstatement of road markings.

To ensure the safety of road users and the local community, traffic management will be in place throughout the works.

A full closure of the A738 between Howgate and Bridgend will be in operation from 6am until 6pm and road users are asked to observe the signed, local diversion.

Operating company representative for Scotland TranServ, Andy Fraser said: “We have programmed this essential maintenance works over one day, during the weekend, to ensure the free flow of traffic during peak times.

“Although delays are expected to be minimal I would urge road users to plan their journey to avoid any disruption.”
