AN Irvine charity have been recognised for the vital service they provide.
Food Train were recently awarded Volunteer Friendly status by the Ayrshire Community Trust for their dedication across North Ayrshire to helping the most vulnerable in the community.
Based at Elliot House, Food Train, who launched in North Ayrshire provide a range of services delivered by volunteers to older people including grocery shopping, home deliveries and household support services.
And their service was hailed by two of their customers who not only rely on their help but also as a friendly face to interact with through the day.
On Friday, June 3, Food Train also held a sun-soaked tea party at Elliot House in support of National Volunteers Week.
Our photographer Charlie Gilmour captured these pictures of the volunteers as well as Marri Welsh and Clare Paterson receiving the award.
