A RECORD breaking cyclist who has travelled around the world and whose feats include navigating some of the highest mountains on the planet is set to make a visit to Irvine.
Mark Beaumont, the ultra endurance adventurer who has become a household name thanks to the BBC documentaries following his trails, has announced that he will make an appearance at the Magnum Theatre on September 23.
The event will be part of this year’s Tidelines Book Festival.
Africa Solo, the book released by Beaumont in May this year, details the journey he made in riding the entire length of the continent from Cairo to Cape Town in under 50 days.
Having achieved his goal, clocking up 10,000km and taking 18 days off the previous fastest time in the process, the 33-year-old now takes time to reflect on the epic challenge that he undertook last year.
Tickets for the Tidelines Festival event will be available soon.
