THREE people have been arrested in connection with an alleged drugs bust in Irvine.

Police say they have seized a quantity of alleged Class A drugs and a four-figure sum of cash following a search of a property in Bourtreehill’s South Vennel on Friday, July 15.

Two women, aged 29 and 50, and a 27-year-old man were arrested in connection of being concerned in the supply of drugs.

All three appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court in connection with the
offences on Monday, July 18.

Sergeant Jason Peter of the Irvine Locality Policing Team, said: “We are committed to keeping people safe and to working with our partners and
the local community to do so.

“At around 7am on Friday, officers in possession of a search warrant forced entry to a property in South Vennel, Irvine.

“A significant quantity of alleged class A drugs, believed to be heroin, were recovered from the property.

“Two women aged 29 and 50 and a 27 year old man were later arrested for allegedly being concerned in the supply of controlled drugs.

“They will be held in police custody to appear at court.”

Sergeant Peter added: “Drugs cause untold misery and suffering in communities - we have since delivered postcards to residents and businesses in the area informing them of our recent activity.

“I would encourage anyone with concerns about crime in their community to contact us.”
