A CHARITY that helps people get their life back on track has been given a cash boost.

Kilwinning businesswoman Sandra Coupland recently handed over a kind £200 donation to FITba4U.

The charity is a structured sport, employability and health programme designed to help people build confidence, improve their fitness and meet new people.

Run by the North Ayrshire Alcohol and Drug Partnership, the group is open to anyone in North Ayrshire aged over 16 who is unemployed or in part-time of full-time education, people who are homeless or under threat of homelessness, or those who are accessing addiction or mental health services.

Sandra, who owns the Oh Crumbs cafe based at Kilwinning Sports Club, said:

“I am delighted to support such a worthwhile project.

“I have gotten to know the group participants over the last few months and can see how much they take from the project.”

FITba4U aims to allow its participants to develop new skills, qualifications and goals, with a view to helping them into employment, education or training.
Tom Lennox, Co-ordinator of FITba4u, said: “On behalf of the entire group I’d like to thank Sandra for her very kind donation.

“The money will be put to good use in the delivery of our service to ensure we continue to provide our participants with opportunities to better their skills.”
