A 13-year-old girl has been reported to the Scottish Children's Reporters Administration over alleged possession of a weapon at an Irvine school.
Police confirmed the incident and say nobody was harmed or threatened.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “At around 2.15pm on Monday, March 6 police were called to a report of a 13-year-old girl in possession of a weapon.
“No one was injured or threatened as a result of the incident and a 13-year-old girl will be subject of a report to the Scottish Children's Reporters Administration."
A spokesperson for the Scottish Children’s Reporter Administration said: “We do not comment on individual cases.”
