A man has admitted to assaulting his girlfriend after hitting her on the head with a pillow.
Gareth Cairns, of Irvine’s Winton Place, pled guilty at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court this week to one charge under the Abusive Behaviour and Sexual Harm (Scotland) Act 2016.
His plea of not guilty to a second charge was accepted by the prosecutor.
On June 13 at a property in Irvine’s Castlepark, Cairns struck the woman on the head with a pillow and caused her to strike her head against a wall.
The court was adjourned for a Criminal Justice Social Work Report and a Restriction of Liberty Assessment.
Cairns, 26, was bailed and will appear again on July 11.
