AN eight-year-old Irvine girl has had her hair chopped off for charity.

Glebe Primary pupil Kerys Blair had her long locks cut for the Little Princess Trust, while also raising hundreds for Cash for Kids in the process.

Mum Nicole Blair told the Irvine Times: “I am very proud of her. It was all her own idea.

“She was thinking about getting her hair cut and I had told her about people who didn’t have any.

“She said she would like to make her hair in to a wig because her hair will grow back and some little boys and girls won’t.

“Then she heard the Cash for Kids 500 faces on the radio and said she would like to help children in Ayrshire because that’s where we stay.

“She is a very kind hearted little girl, I am bursting with pride because of her actions and that she can think of other people without being selfish.

“She and is having a car boot fun day on August 14 at Irvine Watersports Club to raise more money for Cash for Kids.”
