Plans to build more than 100 new homes in Irvine have been passed.

An application to build 80 houses and 24 dwelling flats on land to the east of the Hallmark Hotel on Annick Road were approved subject to conditions last Wednesday, June 12 .

The plans cover the former nine hole pitch and putt golf course located to the east of the hotel building, and also include areas of open space and areas for children’s play.

Ogilvie Homes said: “The transfer of the land from the hotel to Ogilvie Homes has funded the works to the hotel in line with the council’s desire to support tourism in Irvine and to safeguard the hotel facility while safeguarding the 90 individuals employed at the site.

“That prior to the submission of the first application for the approval of matters specified in conditions (MSC), a detailed masterplan for the site and a development brief shall be submitted for the approval of North Ayrshire Council as planning authority.

“The development consists of the erection of 105 dwelling houses as detailed on drawing number PP-01 that accompanies the application.

“The layout has been brought forward taking account of the physical considerations of the site in order to ensure that no dwellings are located in areas of flood risk and to ensure that sufficient noise mitigation measures can be implemented where required.

“The layout also makes provision for SUD’s, open space including an equipped play area and for the associated parking for each dwelling."
