Two police officers were taken to hospital after a car collided with their vehicle.
Police received a report at around 8.40am on Friday, July 28 of a car having been involved in a collision with a police vehicle on the A78 near Pennyburn Roundabout.
Two police officers, a male and a female, were taken to Crosshouse Hospital with minor injuries.
A 57-year-old man is subject to a report to the procurator fiscal in relation to alleged road traffic offences.
There will still considerable delays from Stevenston to Kilwinning as late as 11.30am, with traffic jams stretching from Hawkhill all the way down Pennyburn Road.
