A massive Picnic in the Park has been planned for the end of the summer holidays.

Everyone is invited along to McGavin Park in Kilwinning on August 10. The event begins at noon and finishes at 4pm and there is no cost for the entry.

Some great entertainment on the stage, including Caitlin Carruthers singing, Craig Scott vocals and guitar, Ewan McAuley instrumental and vocals plus a fantastic band Stereo Blond.

There will also be lots of fun things going on around the park for free including soft play, face-painting, glitter art, balloon art, outdoor games including skittles, hook a duck, vintage fire engines, K:A Leisure activator unit plus some outdoor sessions with Kilwinning Rangers FC and Kilwinning Community Sports Club will be offering Try It sessions.

In addition Kilmarnock Football Club, North Ayrshire Youth Services, CARIS Ayrshire Family Information Service, Girlguiding Ayrshire North County, Kilwinning Heritage and Kilwinning Community Council will also be attending.

Plus you could win a bike courtesy of Onyerbike Ayrshire who will have a free raffle.

Bring your picnic or opt to buy ice cream, hotdogs, fish and chips from on site vendors.

Cafe Solace will have some free cakes, Sainsburys have donated free fruit plus Greggs some cakes and sausage rolls.

There will be free tea, coffee and diluting juice for all.

They will have some stalls from parent councils and Promoting Kilwinning fundraising.

If you fancy there will be inflatable slides, bouncy castles, climbing wall and kids rides including the popular Outer Limit fun house.

You can get unlimited play for £6 up to closing time or pay as you go with charges from £1 to £2 for those who just want to try one thing. The details to help you plan your day: •Toilets are in the Park with an accessible toilet.

•Dogs which are well behaved are welcome

•Please bring bikes into the park and chain to fence. •You can bring your picnic chairs and tables.

•Please NO GLASS.

•Parking is at the academy please do not park on residential streets.

•If there is of very bad weather then we will be in the Academy.

•The park has a circular path suitable for all users.
