A 39-year-old man has been jailed for 10 months after admitting to assaulting a policeman, shoplifting, and behaving in a threatening or abusive manner in Irvine.
William Lundie, of no fixed abode, appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court last week and pled guilty to three charges.
His plea of not guilty to a fourth charge was accepted by the prosecutor.
On July 24 at Primark in Irvine’s Rivergate, Lundie stole a quantity of clothing.
The following day at the town’s High Street, Lundie shouted, swore, and uttered threats of violence.
He also spat on a police officer who was on duty.
Lundie was sentenced to three months in jail for the theft and seven months in all for the other two charges.
