A man has been jailed for seven months after assaulting and injuring his ex-girlfriend.

Gary Gunion appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court last week for sentencing, having previously pled guilty to two charges.

Gunion, 30, also admitted to a third charge which he committed while on bail.

On January 22 at his home address in Kilwinning’s Blacklands Crescent, Gunion behaved in a threatening or abusive manner, shouted, swore and placed his thenpartner in a state of fear or alarm.

He also pushed her on the body and caused her to strike her head on an item of furniture, all to her injury.

On June 18 at the same address, Gunion behaved in a threatening or abusive manner and shouted and swore at the woman.

At the time of that offence he was on bail. Gunion was sentenced to five months imprisonment on charge one and two months on charge two.

On the third charge, he was sentenced to four months in jail to run consecutive to his seven month sentence.
