Annick Primary School pupils were delighted to receive new pencil cases as they returned to school.

The personalised pencil cases, containing essential tools for learning, were funded by local businessman Sir Tom Hunter’s ‘The Hunter Foundation’ which prides itself on supporting educational and entrepreneurial projects in Scotland.

The foundation gifted a very generous £1,000 to the school thanks to Primary 6 pupil Megan Seales.

Determined Megan completed the Royal Bank of Scotland Kiltwalk with her mum on 30th April this year.

As an employee of Sir Tom Hunter, Mrs Seales was asked to nominate a beneficiary of her choice in recognition of their achievement and with a little help from Megan she chose Annick Primary School.

Education assistant Carol Kerr said: "We are delighted to have used the donation to ensure all of our pupils have the tools required to complete tasks which further their learning both at school and home.

"Thank you to Sir Tom Hunter Foundation, Megan and her family."
