A man has been arrested in connection with two alleged robberies at an underpass in Kilwinning.
Police confirmed a 33-year-old man has been arrested and is presently detained in police custody in connection with both incidents.
The first incident took place around 11.30am on Monday 10 July when a 76-year-old woman was allegedly robbed of her handbag whilst walking to the underpass near to Pennyburn Road, Kilwinning.
The second alleged robbery took place at the same place on Saturday 9 September and involved a 55-year-old woman.
Police Scotland said a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
