A 40-year-old man has been arrested by police in Irvine for allegedly driving while disqualified.

Officers in Seaton Terrace, Irvine had occasion to stop a vehicle at around 12.30pm hours on Friday, September 29.

The man driving the vehicle is alleged to have provided false details to officers, to be disqualified from driving, to have taken the vehicle without the owner’s consent and was later found to be in possession of an alleged class A drug.

The man was held in police custody to appear at Court.

A spokesperson for Irvine police said: “The arrest of this man was the result of proactive enquiries conducted by officers on routine patrol.

“We are committed to keeping people safe and to working with our partners to improve road safety.
