THE FAMILY of a missing Irvine woman have pleaded with her to come home.

Robynne Kelly says her beloved mum Mary Ellen Kelly vanished from her home in Bourtreehill  at 10am this morning and the family are desperately worried about her because she is unwell.

Robynne, sister Sara, 21 and dad Daniel, 47, say Mary -who is known as Mel - is due to see a neurologist tomorrow following health problems with her brain.

The family says the 52-year-old mum-of-two has not been able to venture out the house by herself recently because of ill health so her vanishing is out of character and has left them desperately worried.

Robynne told the Times: "This is very concerning for us. Mum has not been well for a year and especially recently. We have been waiting for test results for a diagnosis of what is wrong and she was due to see a neurologist tomorrow. We don't know where she could have gone. She can't even walk to the shops by herself at the moment because she gets too fatigued. We are so, so worried.

"I am scared she has panicked about what will happen at this appointment tomorrow. We need to find her. The more people who see her face and are on the lookout, the better."

Mel is described as 5ft 7in with brown mid-length hair with a fringe. She wears glasses and is believed to be wearing a dark parka jacket with a white fluffy hood, light coloured jeans and

trainers. She walks with a slight limp, has a pale complexion, and may be disorientated.

Robynne pleaded wioth her mum to return home. She said: "Mum please, please just come home. We love you and we are worried. Please come home."

Mel's youngest daughter Sara added:: "The police have been contacted as have the security in Irvine. Please if anyone believes to have seen our mum contact any of the numbers below asap, we are worried she may not be aware of what she is doing or where she is going."

The family have contact the police who are also looking for Mel.
