A 34-year-old man who assaulted two women in Kilwinning whilst he was subject to court proceedings has been jailed for nine months.

Kris Geals, of Kilwinning’s Cambusdoon Place, appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court this week from custody for sentencing.

He had previously pled guilty to one charge of assault to robbery and one charge of assault.

At the time of both offences, Geals was subject to an undertaking to appear at the court on September 28.

On September 9 of this year, Geals, stole a woman’s handbag after assaulting her at the underpass between Eglinton Place and Pennyburn Road.

He pushed the woman on the body, struggled with her, and robbed her of her bag and its contents.

Geals struck again on September 13 at the recycling point in Byres Road when he assaulted another woman.

He pushed the victim on the body, which caused her to fall to the ground.

Geals was jailed this week for nine months on charge one and nine months on charge two, with both sentences to run concurrently to each other from November 7.
