An Irvine teenager last seen at Kilwinning train station has been reported missing.

Police Scotland is seeking the assistance of the public in trying to locate a 15 year-old girl missing from Irvine.

Megan Niven was last seen at Kilwinning Train Station around 9pm on Wednesday, November 22.

She is described as 5ft of slim build with very long dark hair, blue eyes and has a hoop piercing on the left side of her nose.

When she was last seen she was wearing a black parker jacket, black leggings and red trainers.

Extensive enquiries are underway to trace Megan, however all attempts to locate her have so far proved unsuccessful.

Officers are checking CCTV footage for any information which could assist them in their enquiries.

Inspector Lynsey Watters said: “Megan has gone missing before but she is only 15 and no-one has seen or heard from her since Wednesday, so we are becoming increasingly concerned.

"In the past, Megan has visited the Irvine, Glasgow, Paisley and Lanarkshire areas and enquiries are being carried out in those areas.

"I would appeal to anyone who may have seen Megan or who has any information as to her whereabouts to contact us. We would also appeal to Megan to let us know she is okay.”

Anyone with information is asked to call officers at Kilmarnock Police Station via 101. Alternatively you can contact CRIMESTOPPERS on 0800 555 111 where anonymity can be maintained.
